CAS Number 2056877-25-7
3tPAB is a multi-resonance thermally activated delayed fluorescence (MR-TADF) deep blue, high colour-purity emitter with six peripheral large steric hindrance tert-butyl units. These units supress the intermolecular interactions, thus to aggregation-induced emission (AIE) quenching, and improve the PLQY of emitter.
By using 1,3-di(9H-carbazol-9-yl)benzene (mCP) as the single host, a 3tPAB based device achieves a maximum external quantum efficiency (EQEmax) of 19.3%, CIE coordinates of (0.141, 0.076), and full-width at half-maximum (FWHM) of 26 nm.
3tPAB can also be used as as a sensitizer for blue traditional fluorescence and MR-TADF OLED devices to minimize the damage of high-energy absorption of the active materials. TADF-sensitized TADF (TST) devices, using 3tPAB as a sensitizer and MR-TADF compound PhDMAC-BN as an emitter, demonstrated maximum external quantum efficiency of 33.9% with efficient Förster energy transfer in high colour-purity.
