n-DABNA (CAS number 2251782-13-3), N7,N7,N13,N13,5,9,11,15-octaphenyl-5,9,11,15-tetrahydro-5,9,11,15-tetraaza-19b,20b-diboradinaphtho[3,2,1-de:1',2',3'-jk]pentacene-7,13-diamine, can be considered as a structure having a pseudo-pentacene core symmetrically containing boron and nitrogen on the second and fourth rings, decorated with peripheral diphenylamines. 

n-DABNA has been demonstrated to be an efficient terminal emitter with high PLQY of about 100% and narrowband emission with an FWHM of 14 nm in toluene. Deep blue device based on v-DABNA as emitting layer shows outstanding EQE of 34.4% and very low efficiency roll-off of 5% at 100 cd m−2.

Comparing with t-DABNA, n-DABNA has relatively longer device lifetime albeit it has a red- shifted peak emission wavelength. n-DABNA has also a planar molecular π framework which makes it prone to excimer formation via π-π intermolecular interaction. For this reason, low doping concentration as low as 1% should be used for higher color purity emission.
