DDCzTRZ, has a bipolar structure with four electron donating carbazole moieties attached to two of the phenyl rings of an electron deficient 1,3,5-triphenyltriazine unit at meta-positions.

DDCzTRZ can also form exciplex with electron donor, i.e. DMAC-DPS for green TADF-OLED devices with high photoluminescence quantum yield and high quantum efficiency. Exciplex TADF device with DMAC-DPS:DDCzTrz as active layer materials achieved high quantum efficiency of 13.4%.

Comparing to DCzTRZ, DDCzTrz has greater stability and shows an LT80 of 52 h, while DCzTrz has an LT80 of only 5 h.
