CAS Number 1819362-10-1
4CzFCN, 2,3,4,6-Tetra(9H-carbazol-9-yl)-5-fluorobenzonitrile, has a similar structure to 4CzIPN, with the only difference being that one of the cyano groups is replaced by a fluorine atom. The presence of fluorine atom promotes hydrophobicity and increases the solubility, and as a result, 4CzFCN can be solution processed in most of the aromatic solvents.
The weaker electron-withdrawing ability of fluorine compared to nitrile blue-shifts the emission, thus 4CzFCN is a TADF blue emitting material while 4CzIPN is green emitting. Calculated PLQY in 10 wt% CzSi host is 100% for 4CzFCN, with a small ΔEST of 0.06 eV.
