Lithium Nickel Manganese Oxide (LNMO) Powder,CAS.12031-75-3
Lithium Nickel Manganese Oxide (LNMO), CAS number 12031-75-3, is a promising active cathode material for lithium-ion batteries (LIBs) with specific theoretical capacities up to 146.8 mAh g-1, a theoretical energy density of 650 Wh kg-1 and an operating voltage of 4.7 V. (vs. Li/Li+). LNMO can be fully lithiated and delithiated during the processes of charging and discharging without any evident structural change.
With a relatively low cost and excellent thermal stability, LNMO cathode presents great advantages over the conventional LiFePO4 and LiCoO2 cathodes. Also, as one of those cathode materials with a low nickel content, LNMO holds great potential to be deployed in hybrid electrical vehicles (HEVs).
Due to the intrinsically fast lithium cation diffusion within the three-dimensional spinel structure, N-doped LNMO cathode exhibits an impressive rate and the state-of-the-art cycling capability, delivering a high capacity of 103 mA h g-1 at 25 °C after 8000 cycles. Even at a high operating temperature of 60 °C, the capacity retention remains at 92% after 1000 cycles.
